From Michelle Levy

I was thinking on the way here what a privilege therapy is!

The therapeutic hour extends from the session both before and after, in that the drive to Cynthia's office is my time to clarify my thoughts and reflect. And today, as I thought about what a privilege it is to get counsel from a caring professional who's also like a wise friend, I cried tears of gratitude. I have an angel on my shoulder now. I get to say, "What would Cynthia do?" And her coaching becomes my inner teacher that I get to consult even in my time away.

It's a prime example of chronos and kairos--chronos being real, measurable time and kairosbeing mythical, fluid time that stretches in proportion to the richness of experience and is unbound by the limitations of physics.

There is a bridge between therapy sessions that's under construction every day. When I look back on this time, I will say, "She was there for me, and it made worlds of difference!" Our work together, when I look back on it from the distant future, will be one gleaming gift, like a precious crystal.
